Organic Oyster mushroom cultivation workshop
These come in many types & colours and can look after themselves when growing. They often out compete contaminants making them a great choice for beginners and the place most people start when growing mushrooms. We cover growing these in our workshop. They are a great way of turning waste materials like wood chips, sawdust, coffee grounds, etc into tasty vegan protein.
What to expect at the workshop
- Tour - After introductions at the Guildhouse we'll learn a little about how we grow mushrooms so that the tour makes sense. We'll then tour our production facilities and see how our techniques are applied.
- Theory - After that, we'll have a deeper dive into how mushrooms grow. We'll explain how we grow sustainably, and why single use plastic is so common in the industry.
- Practical - Finally, we'll drill out your own mushroom buckets, mix substrate, and inoculate with live mushroom spawn. You'll leave with your own mushroom buckets that should produce oyster mushrooms in about a month, grown entirely by you!
Fresh produce & tinctures to buy
There will be an opportunity at the end of the workshop to purchase some fresh produce & extractions, all grown & processed on the farm.
Cost of workshop = £36 + booking fee
Not everyone can make it to our farm, so we also run workshops at other venues.
